Values
Values
We act with uncompromising integrity, standing up for ourselves and others
We champion diversity in all its forms, from racial diversity to religious diversity to sexual identity diversity, and everything in-between. This helps foster diversity of thought, which enables us to be thoughtful and intentional. We practice honoring, not othering
We galvanize resilience, recognizing that seeking out and facing challenges leads to learning and growth, which builds self-confidence
We strive for depth and vulnerable honesty, asking tough questions of ourselves and others
We spark the indomitable power of connection, and we believe in gratitude as a practice
Tenets
EmpowerMeant is led by 3 central tenets:
insight-unite-light
Insight: You’ll be challenged to gain knowledge into yourself so you can be known
Each week of programming has been carefully designed to spark self-discovery with topics that are research-backed and include things like friendship, communication, stress management, values, fear, and the importance of fun
You’ll engage in weekly “impactions”—actions engineered for impact—that are meant to challenge you and help instill the foundational knowledge of who you are
Unite: You’ll belong to a cohort of your peers that will become your allies and accomplices
You’ll bring a trusted adult to the program for support while you evolve, and the other adults in your cohort are there for support, as well
Once you complete the program, you’ll have the option of being included in the Meantorship program, which enables you to both be supported by and encourage others either previously or currently engaged with EmpowerMeant
Light: You’ll become grounded in who you are so you can bring your light to the world
Upon completion of the program, you’ll tell your story so you can experience what it’s like to truly be known
